On the Guild tab, there is a little number to the far left of the character name, what does it mean?????

Seriously, it's only useful as a counter in cached report, you can ignore it in live report, since then characters are fetched from armory list, where they are sorted by Guild Rank, and then they are re-sorted by score on wow-heroes.
