I just picked up JC and when I jeweled my new dragon's eye gems, my wow-heroes gear score went down by 10 points for each (from using the new 3.2 epic gems). Can this be right? I believe jeweler's gems should be rated HIGHER than (if not at least equal to) the epic gems.

JC gems are properly scored. Have you recently changed your second spec to enchanting ? As far as i can see there is a problem.

Yeah, but it was mining that i dropped, which is relatively useless. Does that account for it?

Unfortunately yes ,because now its counted that you have 2 unenchanted items.
