Highest total score

First of all, this is a great site. It helps our guild to check people's gear quickly. Now we used it as a tool to screen for new applicants. Many thanks!

One issue with using wow-heroes is people may need to switch to alternative gear for fishing, pvp or occasionally questing. If they forget to switch back to their best raiding gear when logging off, their total score on wow-heroes may drop by several hundreds. This causes confusion sometimes. This is an even more common now with dual spec, as someone may, for example, has very good healing gear, but logged off with secondary tanking spec and poor tanking gear.

While there is probably no perfect solution for this kind of problem, it may help if the site can save the highest score for individual character. With this change, when we look at the guild member list, we can rank people's real gear score based on this saved highest score and no need to worry about some people are actually switched to alternative gear.

(1) You could create an index based on the players realm, players name, players spec for each characters spec and hold details based on that spec and update as appropiate.

(2) To obtain the overall score you would just need a table with the players realm, players name, points and the spec that the points are associated with. This table would hold a single record for the character containing the highest of all the players dual specs and provide a forward lookup to it. As other specs associated with this character grows - this single record may switch its points and pointer to one of the off-specs.

I agree - easier typying than implimenting it though..... lol.

My 2 cents worth...
